If you or someone you care about has been affected by violence, help is available. Center for Hope provides immediate and long-term support for people of all ages, including survivors of child abuse, domestic violence (also known as intimate partner violence), gun violence and sexual assault.
Center for Hope: Who We Are
Center for Hope exists so that no one faces violence, abuse or trauma alone. We bring together prevention, crisis response, intervention and advocacy so every person can find a path to healing. We offer a welcoming place for anyone seeking support, including survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and gun violence, as well as caregivers and professionals working to keep others safe.
Our work is grounded in the belief that violence is a public health issue, not a single event. It affects physical health, mental well-being, families and whole neighborhoods. So, services are designed to meet people where they are.
Support can begin at a hospital bedside after an incident, continue through counseling and recovery, and extend into training that helps reduce future harm.
Who We Work With
Individuals, Families and Communities
How can we help?
Professionals
Many professionals encounter violence or trauma in their work. If you are a first responder, healthcare provider, attorney or youth serving organization, we offer training and consultation to support effective, trauma-informed care.
Government Leaders and Community Partners
Center for Hope partners with public agencies, nonprofit organizations and community leaders. Together, we work to prevent violence, strengthen coordinated responses and expand access to support across communities.
What We Do
Crisis Response
Crisis response offers support for anyone experiencing abuse, including intimate partner violence, child abuse and elder abuse. Our teams coordinate medical care, help create safety plans and connect people with the resources they need.
Trauma Recovery and Healing
Trauma recovery programs can help people heal from the lasting emotional effects of violence, abuse or neglect. We offer counseling, workshops and other evidence-based supports to help children, teens and adults move forward.
Community Violence Intervention
Community violence intervention works to prevent harm before it happens. Our Safe Streets teams spend time in Baltimore neighborhoods, build trusting relationships and step in when tensions rise.
Firearm Injury Prevention
Launched in partnership with LifeBridge Health, The Safer Futures Program focuses on preventing gun‑related injuries and deaths. We support families, providers and community members with education and resources.
Training and Education
Education strengthens a community’s ability to recognize, respond to and prevent violence. We train professionals and youth-serving organizations on trauma-informed care, mandated reporting and more.
Advocacy
Our legislative advocacy focuses on building relationships and promoting bills that strengthen the systems, standards and policies supporting people affected by violence.
