Acute Care Rehabilitation

Intensive therapy and rehabilitation services recommended by your hospital physician

Begin Your Rehab Journey with Expert Care

Acute care rehabilitation is short-term therapy that helps people recover after a serious illness, injury or surgery. At Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, our acute care therapists work with patients early in their recovery, helping them start moving safely, regain everyday skills and get ready for the next step in care. We also make recommendations for follow-up services and equipment to support a safe and confident return home.

Advanced Orthopedics Acute Care

Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at the Rehabilitation Institute at Sinai is a leader in coordinated care for patients of all ages recovering from total joint replacement, limb deformity correction and other orthopedic conditions. Our therapy team uses an evidence-based, team-based approach, working closely with nurses, nurse navigators, case managers, social workers, surgeons, physician assistants, residents and fellows. Together, they develop personalized care plans that support each patient’s unique recovery journey.

Rehabilitation space

As hospital stays get shorter and more patients go home the same day as their surgery, our physical and occupational therapists play a key role in making sure they’re ready. Therapists carefully assess how patients move in and out of bed, get in and out of seated positions, walk and manage activities of daily living. These evaluations help guide decisions about medical equipment and therapy services needed after discharge.

We have therapists staffed seven days a week, including holidays, to meet patient care needs.
