Designed to set new and improved standards for emergency care and patient experience, ER-7 at Sinai houses seven specialized emergency centers under one roof. Our team of clinical experts work quickly to assess your condition and get you the best possible care.

When to visit the emergency department

The emergency department is the place to go to treat life-threatening illnesses and injuries. You should visit the ED if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Asthma attack or trouble breathing
  • Burns
  • Drug or alcohol overdose
  • Fractures or broken bones
  • Gunshots
  • Heart attack or severe chest pain or pressure
  • Heavy bleeding
  • Intense allergic reaction
  • Knife and other wounds
  • Loss of consciousness, ability to speak, vision, mobility
  • Stroke
  • Suicidal or homicidal feelings
  • Traumatic injury or accident
