The Psychiatric Consultation/Liaison Service provides consultation for inpatients in the general hospital. These services are provided by a psychiatrist and advanced practice nurses.

Inpatient Psychiatry
Beginning November 16, 2020 Sinai hospital will operate two distinct inpatient psychiatry units, located in the Mt. Pleasant Bldg. Both 24 bed units are unisex and provide care for patients 18 years of age and older. The units operate on a crisis stabilization model and have an average six-day length of stay. The units have the capacity to handle geriatric patients and others with concurrent medical conditions and accepts both voluntary and involuntary patients.

Outpatient Services
The outpatient mental health clinic offers care for diverse mental health needs for adults and adolescents ages 13 and older. We are committed to providing comprehensive evaluation and treatment for our community. Services are provided by a team of psychiatrists and other licensed clinical professionals.
Treatment options include mental health evaluations, medication management, individual psychotherapy and group therapy.

Sinai Hospital Addictions Recovery Program (SHARP)
The Sinai Hospital Addictions Recovery Program (SHARP) offers medication-assisted therapy designed for adults struggling with opiate dependency. In addition to methadone and buprenorphine services, SHARP also incorporates an array of evidence-based treatment approaches on an outpatient basis to assist individuals in early recovery from addiction.

Psychiatric Emergency Services
The ER-7 Emergency Department is staffed around the clock by a crisis intervention specialist (masters prepared social worker or nurse) with psychiatrist back-up. Patients identified as needing emergency psychiatric evaluation are assessed and referred to the appropriate level of care, which includes inpatient placement and outpatient service referral.
