Where Wellness and Opportunity Meet
The West Baltimore Renaissance Foundation (WBRF) has launched The Factory, a community-focused hub fostering opportunity, health and wellness for residents of West Baltimore. Strategically located on West Baltimore Street, The Factory serves as a catalyst for community services and economic opportunity while helping to spur redevelopment of the historic corridor.
The Factory houses a variety of nonprofit organizations and entities, including LifeBridge Health. The facility features three completed office suites, a classroom, a conference room, a computer lab and a large convening space, with near-time plans to build out a third and fourth suite and future plans to renovate a commercial and teaching kitchen to support food access initiatives and social enterprises.
Programming focuses on addressing key factors that influence health and economic opportunity, including workforce development in healthcare, entrepreneurship support and youth programming.

Fundraising for the Factory
With $12.5 million invested to date, The Factory is fully operational, providing vital services, creating economic opportunities, and serving as a cornerstone of community engagement and development. While the infrastructure is in place, there remains a $1.6 million funding gap to complete the final buildout. Key funders in this project include the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission (HSCRC), LifeBridge Health, France-Merrick Foundation, the Bunting Family Foundation, and the Baltimore City Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement (MONSE).
The Factory stands as a pivotal investment in West Baltimore’s future.
