You can connect with other moms, discuss your experiences, and learn helpful tools and resources. Whether you are stressed, experiencing baby blues or postpartum depression/anxiety, adjusting to parenting or just looking for connection, this group is for you.

A stroke can significantly affect a person's motor and cognitive abilities. Find support and encouragement from fellow stroke survivors as they share their experiences. Attendees will learn important information regarding stroke and recovery. The group is open to stroke survivors, family members and caregivers.

Meet the staff at Carroll Hospital! Stations will be set up to practice baby care, CPR, birthing tools, breastfeeding positions, breast pumps and other tools a new parent may need. Wear comfortable clothing to this hands-on program.
A short walking tour of The Family Birthplace will be given if the unit is able to accommodate groups at that time.
Open house times are from 6 to 7 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m.

Breastfeeding Support at Carroll Hospital
The Breastfeeding Support Group provides encouragement and mother-to-mother breastfeeding support as well as current, accurate and ongoing breastfeeding information.
Please bring infant ready to nurse, as the infant will be weighed, fed by mother then weighed again so that the mother will know how much the infant is transferring off the breast. Please bring diapers, baby wipes and a pillow or Boppy pillow to support self while nursing.
The group meets every Thursday, except on holidays.

A group for people living with cancer and their families/caregivers
This group provides an opportunity for people living with cancer and their caregivers to share strategies on dealing with cancer. Structured in a casual and inviting setting, these meetings are designed to facilitate a sense of community for those who have been affected by cancer. Walk-ins are
welcome, and attendees are invited to stay for the entire session or a portion of it.

For those who have experienced a loss during pregnancy or of a baby up to 1 year of age
The loss of an infant during or shortly after pregnancy is a traumatic experience that can lead to a range of emotions. Having a support system is very important during this time.
During sessions, attendees have the opportunity to seek help from others, receive tips on coping and managing their grief, and share their feelings with others who have had similar experiences.

Meet us at Exploration Commons for a cooking class! Join a registered dietitian to prepare healthy recipes and learn nutrition and health tips along the way. The cost is $5 per person. Register at explorationcommons.carr.org
February 2: Plant-Based Proteins
It’s time to broaden your protein horizons for Heart Health Month. Research supports embracing plant-based proteins to support a healthy heart, and while tofu isn’t everyone's favorite texture, there are plenty of other whole food sources of plant protein. Tempeh is an excellent choice and the perfect pairing for a discussion on a heart-healthy diet with a registered dietitian.

For National Kidney Month, come cook a delicious meal while we discuss the special nutrition needs for kidney health and kidney disease with a registered dietitian.
April 6: Greek Chicken Sheet Pan Dinner
Enjoy an easy, one-pan dinner featuring spring vegetables and Mediterranean flavors. This recipe will be accompanied by a presentation on the Mediterranean Diet by a registered dietitian.
May 4: Mediterranean Sardines on Avocado Toast
If you think you don't like sardines, this recipe may change your mind! Enjoy a recipe that makes an excellent breakfast, lunch or snack, and it's packed with healthy fats. This recipe will be accompanied by a presentation on healthy fats by a registered dietitian.
June 1: Rainbow Antioxidant Salad
This colorful salad packs a wide variety of nutrients and antioxidants into a single meal. This dish works great for barbecues, brunch or your weekly meal prep. This recipe will be accompanied by a presentation on the anti-inflammatory diet by a registered dietitian.
