Small Neighborhood Grants
The WBRF extends the opportunity for organizations located in zip code 21223 to apply for small grants of $2,500 or less to support events that build community (such as community dinners and holiday activities), address the goals of WBRF, and the needs of West Baltimore residents and communities. All planned uses of funding must be documentable. Receipts and evidence of expenditures will be required.
Eligible Applicants:
- Tax-exempt public charities under Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code
- Churches, but only for non-religious programs for the public
Organizations should reach out to WBRF staff at wbrf@lifebridgehealth.org to schedule a meeting to discuss their planned event.
To request funding, a letter should be submitted to wbrf@lifebridgehealth.org WITH ALL FOUR REQUIRED ATTACHMENTS attached as a PDF file. The letter should include the purpose, timing, anticipated participants, amount requested, and event/activity details. Organizations are required to submit with their letter:
- A copy of their W9
- An event budget
- IRS nonprofit designation letter
- Evidence that the organization is in “Good Standing” with the State of Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation.
Organizations are eligible for a small neighborhood grant two times per fiscal year (July to June). Requests should be submitted at least 3 months prior to the event. An organization must complete a Small Neighborhood Grant-funded event and file a final report before any other grant funding will be released by WBRF.
