Carroll Hospital’s Pink Fling Celebrates Breast Cancer Survivors
Local Businesses Also Support Carroll Hospital and Breast Cancer Awareness Month Through “Paint Carroll Pink” Campaign
Westminster, MD - Join the Carroll Hospital Foundation when all shades of pink will be on display as supporters step out in style, Sunday Oct. 19, for the annual Pink Fling, presented by Advanced Radiology. Participants will celebrate breast cancer survivors; enjoy laughter, camaraderie, music and food; shop from local artisans; and have access to education and resources about early breast cancer detection.

A highlight of the afternoon will be the group photo with 90+ breast cancer survivors (taking place around 3:50 p.m.). Guests will hear remarks from Dr. Dona Hobart, medical director of the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital and Northwest Hospital, as well as two breast cancer survivors.
The Carroll Hospital Foundation hopes to raise about $130,000 to support breast cancer services at Carroll Hospital.
More than 300 people are expected to attend the annual event, which sold out weeks ago (breast cancer survivors receive a complimentary ticket). The attire, of course, is pink!
A portion of the proceeds from Pink Fling benefits the Embrace Program, a 12-week program for newly treated survivors that focuses on nutrition, exercise, mindfulness, mentoring and other wellness practices. The other portion of proceeds from Pink Fling goes back to help support the Center for Breast Health.
Carroll Hospital and the surrounding community also go all out for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In addition to Pink Fling, local businesses are currently participating in “Paint Carroll Pink” by painting their store-front windows in pink and raising funds for the Center for Breast Health at Carroll Hospital.
Other businesses and organizations, such as Covalent Spirits, Island Green, Patapsco Distillery, EW Becks, Texas Roadhouse and Maryland’s Jeep Club, have held fundraisers, such as a signature pink drink or a “Putt for Pink Festival.”
