Carroll Hospital Receives a 2026 Circle of Honor Award from the Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center
Westminster, Md. – Carroll Hospital has received a 2026 Circle of Honor Award from the Mid-Atlantic Patient Safety Center for its entry, “Pressures Off! Reducing Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries.”
Hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs) are among the most preventable, yet the most persistent in acute care settings. Over an 18-month period, Carroll Hospital identified areas of improvement by launching a comprehensive quality initiative consisting of nursing leadership, wound care specialists and quality improvement staff. This multidisciplinary effort achieved a 64% reduction in reportable HAPIs, exceeding the 30% goal, marking a major advancement in patient safety and quality of care.
