Brian J. Cawley Named New Carroll Hospital President and Chief Operating Officer
LifeBridge Health is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian J. Cawley as the new president and chief operating officer of Carroll Hospital, effective June 29. Cawley will also serve as senior vice president of LifeBridge Health.
Cawley is a highly accomplished healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience leading hospital operations, strategic growth initiatives, healthcare finance and integrated physician practices in Maryland.
He comes to Carroll Hospital from MedStar Health in Baltimore, where he served as senior vice president of operations for two hospitals.
Cawley brings a wealth of expertise in managing complex healthcare systems and a deeply rooted commitment to patient safety, clinical excellence and community well-being. He is also familiar with LifeBridge Health, having previously served as vice president of operations at Northwest Hospital and as leader of LifeBridge Health’s Community Physician Enterprise.

Cawley’s extensive experience in physician collaboration, operations and community outreach makes him an ideal leader to guide Carroll Hospital into its next chapter of growth. “I am excited and proud to join the Carroll Hospital team,” he says, “and I look forward to the impact we will make together.”
Cawley has a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in healthcare management from Towson University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Maryland, which included international studies at the Erasmus School of Economics in the Netherlands.
Dedicated to developing the next generation of healthcare leaders, Cawley is a long-serving member of the Towson University Healthcare Management Advisory Board, a former adjunct faculty member and a graduate student mentor and externship preceptor for George Washington University.
He is an active community leader, serving as a board member for the Central Maryland Regional Chapter of the American Red Cross and a former board member and finance committee leader for The Healthcare Council and ShareSource. He is also a graduate of Leadership Baltimore County.
