Vestibular, Dizziness, Concussion and Balance Program

Vestibular Rehabilitation is an area of physical therapy in which therapists work to improve symptoms of dizziness and balance problems. Therapy for vestibular disorders can take many forms.

Treatment is tailored to each patient’s individual needs in order to improve balance, coordination of eye-head movements, activity tolerance, and visual focus. A physical therapist can help you work through these symptoms immediately and get you back to a more active and productive life.

Common diagnoses include:

  • BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)

  • Meniere’s disease

  • Vestibular neuritis

  • Labyrinthitis

  • Vestibular migraine

  • Unilateral or Bilateral peripheral vestibulopathy

  • Post-concussion syndrome

  • Cervicogenic dizziness

  • Cerebellar and brainstem stroke

  • Post acoustic neuroma surgery

  • Post occipital nerve release surgery

The Vestibular and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury Physical Therapy Specialists at Sinai hospital have undergone advanced training and have been certified by the APTA as being competent in treating vestibular disorders.
