Laura K. Green, M.D.

Program Director

Dr. Green has been the residency Program Director at the KEI since 2010, and is especially proud of our resident clinic and the individual teaching and mentorship that our program provides. She has a particular interest in resident and faculty development, leadership, mentoring and advocacy.

She is a leader among program directors, previously serving on the Program Director's Council of the AUPO, the AAO Committee for Resident Education, and the board of the Maryland Society for Eye Physicians and Surgeons. She is currently Chair of the Review Committee for Ophthalmology for the ACGME. She has completed the AAO Leadership Development Program, with a project focusing on resident engagement in advocacy by connecting residents with state societies when they graduate.

Anthony Castelbuono, M.D.

Associate Program Director

Dr. Castelbuono developed an interest in Ophthalmology while researching retinal cells as an undergraduate at Harvard College. He has held academic appointments at both Johns Hopkins and Dartmouth Medical Schools where he has taught numerous residents and medical students through the years.

Parvathy Pillai, M.D.

Dr. Pillai was born in India and raised in central Florida. She happily considers herself a Baltimore transplant since moving here in 2009 for residency at Sinai! She loves teaching residents, especially early surgeons, and has been honored to win the Residency Teaching Award numerous times. In addition to her responsibilities with the residency program, she serves as the CME coordinator for the department and coordinates our annual KEI symposium, as well as being an Editor for the Uveitis section of the AAO One Network.
