Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry (MCOT)

Mobile Cardiac Outpatient Telemetry (MCOT) is a small device that is applied to the chest to monitor and record your heart rhythm. Your healthcare provider will set the device to record for days, weeks or up to a month. Depending on the type of device, it will either transmit therecorded information wirelessly to the manufacturer or will be mailed to the manufacturer for data retrieval. Once the data is received, it will be analyzed and a report will be given to your healthcare provider.

Symptoms

MCOT may be recommended if you have experienced:

 

  • Syncope or near syncope
  • Palpitations
  • Dizziness
  • Arrythmias
  • Atrial Fibrillation
