JEDI Champion of the Month: Joseph Schultz

March 22, 2023 in Blog Posts

March’s JEDI Champion is Joseph Schultz, talent acquisition consultant and co-chair of the Veterans Network Employee Resource Group. Joseph’s fellow chair, Josh Baxter, had this to say about Joseph’s invaluable contributions to LifeBridge Health’s community of military veterans:

“Joe’s vast knowledge and experience have been invaluable. Joe is a subject matter expert to many veteran benefits and a guiding light for myself. When I propose ideas Joe helps me by putting them into a frame of focus that makes them more achievable. Joe schedules our meetings and takes care that everyone in our ERG has access to the information we pass. This past Veterans Day he volunteered time from his busy schedule to stop by my office days in advance to pick up the coins we were distributing and dropped them off at Grace, Northwest, and Carrol hospitals early to ensure everyone could receive the coin on Veterans Day. Many members of our ERG have reached out to Joe to thank him for his efforts and recognition.”

Q1. How long have you been with LifeBridge Health and what is your current role?

A: I have been with LBH for 1 year (1/10/2022 hire) and serve in HR as a Talent Acquisition Consultan

Q2. You bring so much passion into the work you do…what motivates you?

A: I have dedicated much of my time to educating my fellow service members on topics and areas of concern. With their sacrifices through the service to our country, I feel an obligation to share knowledge that may assist them and/or their families in some way; making them aware of benefits, opportunities and programs that may help them achieve their goals.

Q3. As Co-Chair of the Veteran Employee Resource Group, what are some of your aspirations for the ERG?

A: Ultimately, we are looking to build a diverse network across the organization. As our fellow ERGs can attest, our members likely have a vested interest in numerous ERGs. Moving forward, we would like to see a more cohesive plan to incorporate efforts at partnering with each other to advance the interests of all involved. The JEDI Council has been charged with the mission to bring inclusion to the forefront, and inter-connected ERGs brings a wonderful opportunity to achieve this mission.

Q4. Since starting at LifeBridge Health, what have you found most rewarding?

A: I enjoy making a difference in someone’s life. Many of the candidates I work with in Talent Acquisition are in great need of employment. The post-pandemic workforce that many families face is tremendously challenging for some to navigate. I work diligently to clear the obstacles on the path to employment through a respectful and responsive approach, working to fill our organizational needs while providing a meaningful resource to those seeking employment at LifeBridge Health.
