The Leslie Simmons Endowed Fund for Leadership Development provides lasting support for the growth of current and emerging leaders across Carroll Hospital. Income from the fund may be used for such things as leadership retreats, continuing education, professional training programs, leadership assessments, team-building initiatives, and executive coaching for hospital leaders at every level.
Established in honor of Leslie Simmons
Leslie's more than 25-year career has had a lasting impact on Carroll Hospital and its growth into a high-quality, respected community institution.
Leslie began her career where all great nursing leaders do — at the bedside. Over the course of a remarkable professional journey, she joined Carroll Hospital in 2000, rose through the ranks to become President of Carroll Hospital in 2013, and ultimately Executive Vice President of LifeBridge Health in 2020 — earning the trust and admiration of staff, patients, and community members at every step. Her many honors — a three-time recipient of Maryland's Top 100 Women, a Top 30 Healthcare Executive, a Daily Record Women to Watch honoree, a Health Care Power List honoree, an ICON Award recipient, and a Women Who Mean Business honoree — all point to the same truth: she brought to every role the compassion she first learned as a nurse and the vision she earned as a leader. Leslie has always held a firm belief that investing in leaders is what maximizes their impact on the organization.
By investing in the people who guide our hospital's mission, this fund ensures that Leslie’s legacy of servant leadership — rooted in clinical experience and sustained by a lifelong commitment to mentorship — will continue to shape the next generation of healthcare leaders for years to come.
