Our Forensic Care Center—formerly known as the S.A.F.E. Program—has been proudly serving our community since 1999, providing trauma-informed, patient-centered care to individuals impacted by violence. What began as a small, specialized service has grown into a comprehensive 24/7 program staffed by licensed and highly trained Forensic Nurse Examiners dedicated to promoting safety, healing, and justice.
We deliver individualized trauma informed care tailored to each patient’s unique needs while upholding the highest standards of objectivity, accuracy, and detailed forensic practice. All evaluations are conducted in our dedicated forensic examination suite, designed to ensure comfort, privacy, and confidentiality.

- Intimate partner and domestic violence
- Non-fatal strangulation
- Child abuse and maltreatment

- Full head-to-toe medical forensic examinations
- Detailed injury documentation (specialized photography, body mapping, and narrative reporting)
- DNA and trace evidence collection
- Strict chain-of-custody maintenance
- Testing for drug-facilitated sexual assault
- Testing and prophylaxis for sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy
- Safety planning, danger (lethality) assessments, and extensive patient education
- Connection to community support services and follow-up care
- Fact and expert witness testimony
