Women's Imaging

At LifeBridge Health, we offer a wide range of imaging tests and treatments specifically for women and their unique medical needs. Bone density scans are used to measure bone mineral content and density. The DEXA version of bone density scanning is considered the most accurate test. A bone density test is painless and non-invasive, it measures the density of the spine, lower arm and hip.

Hysterosalpingography is an X-ray exam of a woman's uterus and fallopian tubes. This exam is often used to examine women who have difficulty becoming pregnant.

Ovarian vein embolization is a minimally invasive treatment for pelvic congestion syndrome that is used to close off faulty veins so they can no longer enlarge with blood. Uterine fibroid embolization is a minimally invasive treatment for fibroid tumors of the uterus. These benign tumors can cause heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain and pressure on the bladder or bowel. More rarely, they can turn cancerous.
