About

Dr. Nowell is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He treats a wide range of orthopedic injuries and performs both arthroscopic (minimally invasive) and open surgical procedures.

 

Dr. Nowell received his medical degree from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed a surgical internship at Mass General Brigham/Brigham and Women's Hospital before finishing his orthopedic surgery residency at Howard University and MedStar Health Georgetown University Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at The Ohio State University. 

 

When he’s not caring for patients, Dr. Nowell enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his wife. They love staying active outdoors and can often be found hiking or playing pickleball.
