About
Stephen M. Bell, M.D., has delivered top quality orthopedic care to the LifeBridge Health community for
more than 20 years. He treats a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, with a particular focus on
orthopedic trauma (fracture care) and total joint replacement for the knee, hip and shoulder.
Dr. Bell encourages his patients to participate in their own care. His role is to give practical
alternatives to surgery first and then provide expert surgical care when needed. All of his patients are
treated with respect and educated about their condition before, during and after treatment.
After attending Harvard College and Yale School of Medicine, his orthopedic training was completed at
the University of Michigan Hospital. Dr. Bell is board certified and a member of the American Academy of
Orthopedic Surgeons, the Maryland Orthopedic Association, the National Medical Association and the
Michigan Orthopedic Society. At Sinai Hospital, he has served as assistant chief of orthopedics,
residency coordinator for orthopedics, director of orthopedic trauma and the musculoskeletal medicine
fellowship director.
