Anil Bhave, PT
Clinical Director
Anil is the Clinical Director of Orthopedic Rehabilitation and the Wasserman Gait Laboratory, and Chief of Strategy for Rehab Engineering and Virtual Rehab at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center.
A practicing physical therapist for 40 years, he evaluates and treats patients with limb dysfunctions (e.g., stiffness, weakness, joint contractures) that result from conditions such as total joint replacement, limb lengthening surgery, and trauma, and he has developed and patented dynamic casting and bracing techniques for treatment of stiffness and contractures.
Anil is certified in various techniques such as Astym, dry needling, kineasiological EMG, and blood flow restriction therapy. An accomplished researcher and lecturer, Anil has published over 100 works in peer-reviewed journals and delivered more than 330 lectures nationally and internationally. He is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards such as the Jacqueline Perry, MD Award of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Lynn Staheli, MD Award of the Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America.
Kimberly Doll, PT, DPT
Manager
Kym is the Manager of Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center acute care and outpatient departments. She has 19 years of experience working with post-surgical orthopedic conditions in an outpatient setting, as well as treatment of pediatric orthopedic conditions and limb lengthening.
Kym has worked with Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center's orthopedic outpatient therapy department for 16 years. She obtained her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She has received training in Astym, blood flow restriction therapy, and SMFA.
In her time away from work, Kym enjoys running and spending time being active with her three boys and husband.
Alissa Furrs, PT, DPT, OCS
Inpatient Operations Coordinator
Ali is the Inpatient Operations Coordinator for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She specializes in the care coordination of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty as well as the evaluation and treatment of patients in the inpatient acute care setting after joint replacement surgery.
Ali earned her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She primarily works with the adult population after orthopedic surgery. Ali also assists in the pediatric department. She is a certified Astym provider and works closely with the outpatient physical therapy department to provide treatment as needed. She coordinates the transition of care for patients after total knee arthroplasty from the hospital to the outpatient clinic.
Young "Dan" Kim, PT, DPT, OCS
Outpatient Operations Coordinator
Dan is the Outpatient Operations Coordinator for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center outpatient rehabilitation. He has several years of experience treating adolescent to adult orthopedic patients with conditions from sports and work injuries to post-surgery rehabilitation.
Dan is a 2012 graduate of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and a board-certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy. He obtained further training in trigger point dry needling, Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), blood flow restriction therapy, Astym, and manual therapy. He has a special interest and passion for treating spine-related conditions, including cervicogenic headaches and neck pain from whiplash injuries.
Dan is married with two young, active children who take up most of his free time. However, whenever he has time for himself, he enjoys doing DIY projects around the house.
Sara Goggin, PT, DPT
Outpatient Program Development Coordinator
Sara is the Outpatient Program Development Coordinator for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She also coordinates the outpatient physical therapy at Sinai Hospital for patients undergoing limb lengthening and deformity correction. Sara has several years of experience treating adult and pediatric orthopedic patients, specializing in the treatment of limb deficiencies and congenital deformities.
Sara has worked at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center since obtaining her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2010. She has expertise in pediatric orthopedics including limb lengthening, as well as running evaluations, Astym, trigger point dry needling, and other manual techniques as well as fabricating custom orthotics.
In her free time, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and three young girls.
Roland Starr, MS
Senior Rehab Scientist
Roland studied Math and Physics as an undergraduate at Washington State University and continued with graduate school at the University of Minnesota, studying Math and Robotics/Controls.
After school, he began working in gait labs. As part of a team, he built the first lab at Gillette Children's Specialty Health Care in St. Paul, Minnesota. He moved to Melbourne, Australia, where he ran the gait lab at the Royal Children's Hospital, which has since moved to the Murdoch Institute. Upon returning to the United States, he began working at Sinai Hospital in the Wasserman Gait Lab, expanding out to be manager of Inpatient and Outpatient Orthopedic Therapy for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. He has co-authored several papers over the years and is certified as a Principal Investigator for research projects.
More recently, he has been named the Senior Rehabilitation Scientist for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. In that role, he is looking at the intersection of software, electronics/sensors and 3D printing with rehabilitation. The goal is to improve each patient's outcome through innovative designs.
Benjamin Adams, PT, DPT, OCS
Ben is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and the Sport and Manual Therapy Specialist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. He graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2017 with his doctorate in physical therapy. Since graduating, he has been working in outpatient orthopedics with a special interest in spine-related pain, sports and running injuries, and post-operative care.
Ben has his Manual Physical Therapy Certification (MTC) from Evidence in Motion and is currently a fellow-in-training with the Bellin College Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship program. Through this additional training, Ben has learned a variety of manual therapy, exercise, and pain modulation interventions that he uses to tailor treatment for each individual patient. He prioritizes creating care plans focused on a patient-centered goals and values to ensure that treatment creates meaningful changes in his patient’s lives.
Ben lives in Baltimore with his wife, children, and dog. When he is not spending quality time with his family or friends, he is most likely running somewhere in the city or forest.
Lauren Deaver, MS, OTR/L
Lauren is an occupational therapist for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She graduated from Towson University with a master's degree and has been working at Sinai Hospital since 2010. Since graduating, Lauren has considerable experience treating the adult and pediatric orthopedic population, specifically specializing in pediatric limb lengthening. Lauren is a Car Seat Safety Technician (CPST) and coordinates the Care Seat Program at Sinai. She is also a licensed Astym provider and has expertise with manual therapy for the upper extremity and advanced splinting needs.
In her free time, Lauren enjoys painting and spending time with her family.
Tara Kolativa, PT, DPT
Tara is an inpatient physical therapist for Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. Tara has hospital-based experience with many patient populations, including oncology, neurology, cardiopulmonary, organ transplant, and orthopedics. She has a special interest in orthopedic surgery for adult and pediatric patients.
Tara is from northeast Pennsylvania. She earned both her Bachelor's degree and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Misericordia University in Pennsylvania.
She enjoys traveling, being active, and spending time with friends and family in her free time.
Dane Kopas, PT, DPT
Dane has been a physical therapist with Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center since January 2017. Since joining Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center, Dane has completed continuing education courses for certifications in Astym, blood flow restriction therapy, lower extremity casting, and trigger point dry needling.
A graduate of Duquesne University in 2016, Dane has always had a love for orthopedic and sports rehabilitation since undergoing knee surgery in high school.
Lisa Levitt, PT, DPT
Lisa has been working at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center since obtaining her doctorate of physical therapy from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2011.
Her passion has always been working with the pediatric population in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has several years of experience working with adult and pediatric orthopedic patients with a special interest in pediatric limb deficiencies and congenital deformities. She is a licensed Astym provider and has expertise in other manual techniques.
Lisa spends her time away from work with her children and husband and rooting for Baltimore sports teams.
Robert Lieu, OTR/L
Robert graduated in 1998 from Towson University as an occupational therapist. He started working at Sinai Hospital in August 1998. Robert worked in acute care for four years and then transitioned to the Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center inpatient team and has been there ever since.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family.
Natalie Little, OTD, OTR/L
Natalie is an inpatient occupational therapist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. Her love for rehabilitation started as an inpatient volunteer at Sinai Hospital. From there, she became a rehab aide and is now an occupational therapist.
In 2017, Natalie received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Towson University. She then went on to earn her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pittsburg in 2020.
In her free time, Natalie enjoys playing field hockey and spending time with her friends and family.
Mark Megary, PT
Mark Megary is a longstanding member of the Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center physical therapy team. He has extensive clinical experience in various therapy settings and has treated diverse patient populations ranging from pediatrics to ICU to outpatient orthopedics.
Mark is from Maryland, but studied abroad where he received his degree in Physiotherapy from The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland in the U.K.
He enjoys treating our department's joint replacement and general orthopedic populations. He has a special interest in manual therapy techniques and has taken numerous courses in this area to enhance his expertise. He is also a certified provider of Astym treatment and blood flow restriction training.
Mark still enjoys reading and watching most things "British," and returning for visits when he gets the chance.
Grace "Annie" Neurohr, PT, DPT, OCS
Grace "Annie" Neurohr is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and the Running and Biomotion Specialist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of both competitive and recreational runners.
Annie earned her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She is a level 2 certified running gait analyst, specializing in motion sensor technology. She is also certified in trigger point dry needling, Astym, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy (BFRT), and custom orthotic fabrication. She is currently involved in gait analysis and running related research with the department and teaches locally and internationally on running related injury evaluation and treatment.
Having completed six marathons, Annie is an avid runner and involved member of the Baltimore community.
In her free time, Annie enjoys playing co-ed soccer, hiking with her dog, Adler, and traveling back home to Georgia to see her family and friends.
Laura Osborne, PT, DPT
Laura is a staff physical therapist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She earned her doctorate in physical therapy from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2021. After completing a clinical rotation at Sinai Hospital as a student and graduating in May, she became a full-time staff member. Laura is passionate about treating a variety of post-surgical cases including adult and pediatric limb lengthening.
Laura grew up in Maryland and enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her fiancé, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay with her family.
Kristen Russo, PT, DPT
Kristen is an inpatient therapist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. During her time at Sinai Hospital, she has experience working with elective joints, limb lengthening for both adults and pediatrics, amputees, trauma injuries and other complex orthopedic surgeries. Kristen is also a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST).
In 2014, Kristen received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Salisbury University. She worked in a physical therapy clinic as an aide throughout college which encouraged her to pursue a degree in physical therapy. She attended University of Maryland Eastern Shore and earned her doctorate of physical therapy in 2017.
Kristen's interests include going for a long run, beach trips, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tessa Shifflett, PT, DPT
Tessa is a staff physical therapist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2022 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic and post operative conditions utilizing her background as a personal trainer to incorporate fitness principles into her patients' recovery. Tessa is interested in the application of new technologies in the rehabilitation process, as well as spinal and pelvic biomechanics, and the role they play in injury prevention and rehabilitation.
In her free time, Tessa enjoys spending time with her husband going to the gym, playing with their two bunnies, and just about any activity in the ocean or on a mountain.
Chelsea Turk, PT, DPT, OCS
Chelsea graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore in 2012 with her doctorate in physical therapy. She an a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), and the Foot and Ankle Specialist at Advanced Orthopedic Therapy at Sinai Rehab Center. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of foot and ankle diagnoses from pediatrics to adults and performs evaluations for the fabrication of custom foot orthotics.
Chelsea started out at Sinai Hospital in acute care working with trauma and post-operative orthopedics and transitions to outpatient orthopedics in 2015. She has worked with a variety of patient populations including pediatrics, athletes, and patients that have undergone total joint replacement and complex orthopedic surgeries. She has an interest in manual therapy, especially for the foot, ankle, and shoulder, and is certified in Blood Flow Restriction Therapy (BFR), Astym, and taping techniques.
In her free time Chelsea enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and doing/teaching yoga as a registered yoga teacher.
