Braeme Glaun, M.D., is a neuromuscular neurologist and director of the neuromuscular division at The Sandra and Malcolm Berman Brain & Spine Institute. His main areas of expertise are dystonia, muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, neuromuscular disorders/EMG, numbness, tingling, neck and back pain, peripheral neuropathy, tremor, and weakness/trouble walking.
Dr. Glaun attended medical school at the University of Cape Town in Cape Town, South Africa. After an internship at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, he completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in neurophysiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital for Special Surgery. He is board certified in neurology, with subspecialty certification in clinical neurophysiology, and is a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM).
Under Dr. Glaun’s leadership, the Brain & Spine Institute’s neuromuscular/electrodiagnostic laboratory received Accreditation with Exemplary status from the AANEM, which is the highest level of accreditation a center can receive from that organization. This designation ensures that patients receive quality medical care in a safe environment.
