Creating a center of excellence and new response model, LifeBridge Health’s Center for Hope provides intervention and prevention for: child abuse, domestic violence, community violence, and elder justice for survivors, caregivers, and communities.

Our Vision: Building Hope

At LifeBridge Health, we recognize the devastating impact of violence in our communities, and the growing number of victims of all ages. This is a public health issue and we need to help our communities by partnering with the people in them, to break the cycle of violence. We need to partner alongside community leaders, stand shoulder to shoulder with parents and caregivers, and help provide survivors of violence and crime with support and healing, in order to grow a collective hope for a better city and a better world.

Our New Home

Our new, state-of-the-art Jill Fox Center for Hope building is located in Park Heights with ready access by Center clients, family members, and community members to engage in violence prevention, wellness activities, education, workforce development, referral programming, and more.

Services

CHAMP

The Child Abuse Medical Professionals (CHAMP) is a network of medical professionals (doctors and nurses) who are experts in child maltreatment, including child abuse and neglect. They serve as a resource to medical professionals, children’s advocacy centers (CACs), and MDT partners, evaluate suspected maltreatment in children, including abuse and neglect, and provide consultation and training to medical professionals.

Child Advocacy Center

The Children’s Advocacy Center is a nationally accredited agency dedicated to violence intervention and prevention. The center offers support to children and families affected by violence.

Community Violence

Center for Hope programs such as PAAVE, our many Violence Response teams, and the Red Desk Project work to break the cycle of aggression and crime in the community.

Domestic Violence

Center for Hope has domestic violence hospital-based responses in three LifeBridge Health hospitals which provides crisis intervention and assists patients, employees and community members with free and confidential services.

Elder Justice

Using time-tested violence intervention and prevention approaches for children, Center for Hope is providing a new approach specific to the elderly which is rapidly growing in demand. Our new Elder Justice Center will provide the same 24-hour team-oriented crisis response for every vulnerable elderly adult in our community.

FIRE

Forensic Interview Research and Education (FIRE) bridges the gap between forensic interview research and practice by engaging in partnerships with researchers and expert practitioners alike. The department engages in forensic interview research and educates forensic interviewers and other professionals nationally.

Mental Health

The Mental Health Program provides trauma-focused, evidence-based outpatient psychotherapeutic services to Baltimore City residents recovering from traumatic life experiences across the lifespan, as young as 3-years-old.

Training

We help to educate organizations and communities and train professionals and community members to serve those who are vulnerable as effectively as possible, including training for mandated reporters, who are the first line of defense in responding to abuse and neglect.
