Stephanie Bankert, R.N., and Sarva Girdhar, M.D., receive awards for their outstanding patient care
Stephanie Bankert, R.N., manager of the critical care unit, and Sarva Girdhar, M.D., wound care, were recently presented with awards for their exceptional patient care.
A team member for 21 years, Bankert was presented with June's DAISY Nurse Leader Award for her exceptional skills as a leader and her outstanding bedside manner with patients on her unit.
"Stephanie values our thoughts and opinions and encourages us to make self-care a priority," said wrote one team member in her nomination letter.
"Stephanie is not only an invaluable resource to our unit, she is also a caring leader who consistently demonstrates excellence when it comes to patient care," wrote another team member in her nomination.
Affiliated with Carroll Hospital for 36 years, Dr. Girdhar received June's Physician of the Month Award for his compassionate patient care and outstanding efforts in educating patients about their wounds.
"Dr. Girdhar is an exceptional physician who provides outstanding care and goes above and beyond for all our wound care patients. He a strong leader who is consistently willing to step in to assist others whenever needed," said Mark Olszyk, chief medical officer and vice president of medical affairs at Carroll Hospital.
