December 15, 2023 in Blog Posts

J.E.D.I. Champions are LifeBridge Health team members who go above and beyond to represent the values of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion. December's J.E.D.I. Champion is Lori Clark, organizational culture & employee engagement consultant.

Q1. How long have you been with LifeBridge Health and what is your current role? Lori Clark

A: I started almost nine years ago at Carroll Hospital two months before it joined LifeBridge Health in 2015. My current title is organizational culture & employee engagement consultant.

Q2. You bring so much passion into the work you do — what motivates you?

A: I truly want the best for our LifeBridge Health team members! We spend a third of our lives at work, so why wouldn’t we want that time to be rewarding and fulfilling? We are so much more than our job title. I love getting to know individuals at LifeBridge Health and learning what is important to them as people, not just as team members. And I really enjoy partnering with our leaders to talk about how they can grow and develop their relationships with their team members as well as celebrate their amazing successes.

Q3. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group (ERG), what are some of your aspirations for the Life Bridge Health community?

A: I believe we are heading in the right direction to truly move the needle on health equity and inclusion. My aspiration for LifeBridge Health is that we continue on our journey to foster a sense of belonging for every team member, patient and visitor who walks through our doors. I remember when we started our very first ERGs and now, we have seven groups where team members can work together on important initiatives and make lasting friendships.

It’s exciting to see that LifeBridge Health has adopted corporate goals that align with creating positive changes around equity and justice. I trust in the senior leaders of this organization to ensure that these efforts remain a priority by advocating for this vital work that impacts so many members of the communities we serve. I can’t wait to see what LifeBridge Health is going to work on next!

Q4. Since starting at LifeBridge Health, what have you found most rewarding?

A: I LOVE the LGBTQIA+ resource group! I am fortunate to work with an absolutely fantastic group of people who are passionate about celebrating and honoring our LGBTQIA+ communities here at LifeBridge Health and all over Maryland, while providing education to our team members about how to compassionately care for our LGBTQIA+ patients. There is a lot to do and this work can be challenging, but we all band together to support each other as much as we can.
