Types of diabetes defined

What is prediabetes?
Prediabetes is when you have blood sugar levels that are higher than normal but not yet high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. Just because you discover that you have prediabetes, it doesn’t mean that you’ll develop type 2 diabetes, particularly if you follow a treatment plan and diet and exercise routine.

Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes, also known as adult onset diabetes, is a disease that occurs when you blood sugar (glucose) is too high. Blood glucose is your main source of energy and comes mainly from the food you eat. Diet and exercise are big factors in managing type 2 diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes
Type 1 diabetes, also known as juvenile diabetes, is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Insulin is a hormone needed to allow sugar to enter cells to produce energy.
