Gynecology Oncology - Graduate Medical Education
At Sinai over 300 patients are admitted annually for treatment of invasive gynecologic neoplasia. This broad patient base allows us to comprehensively teach the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancer.
Residents are educated in the fundamentals of:
- Surgery
- Chemotherapy
- Radiotherapy
Residents also learn how to manage acutely and chronically ill patients.
Multidisciplinary interaction includes meeting and working with:
- Medical oncologists
- Radiation therapists
- Pathologists
- Pharmacologists
- Clinical nurse specialists
This interaction underscores the principles of collaborative effort in the care of oncology patients. This includes a weekly gynecologic oncology tumor board meeting.
