Emergency Radiology

Emergency RadiologyEmergency radiology is a subspecialty of radiology that focuses on diagnosing the acute illnesses and injuries of emergency room patients. This subspecialty involves X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs and CT scans all taken and interpreted onsite in the emergency room.

Emergency radiology is used to diagnose sudden-onset illnesses and injuries, such as appendicitis, gunshot wounds, stroke and more. Because emergencies can happen day or night, our radiologists are always on hand in the ER units of Sinai and Northwest hospitals, ready and able to perform high-tech imaging procedures and interpret their results quickly and accurately.
