Mark Olszyk, M.D., Receives the Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award

Mark Olszyk, M.D., vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at Carroll Hospital, recently received the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award. 

The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.

Dr. Olszyk received the award based on his outstanding performance on a range of criteria the ACHE evaluated including his leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing his own organization promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities; and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

A member of Carroll Hospital’s executive team for seven years, Dr. Olszyk has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership. In addition to his role as vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at Carroll Hospital, he also oversees Carroll Health Group, the hospital’s affiliated multi-specialty practice and a LifeBridge Health partner. 

Dr. Olszyk is the vice chair of the Maryland Board of Physicians and served two terms on the board after having been reappointed by Governor Larry Hogan in 2017. He is a fellow of the Federation of State Medical Boards and has completed tenures at the Veterans Health Administration's Office of Quality, Safety, and Value, and at the VA Maryland Health Care System.
