LifeBridge Health and the JCC envision this partnership as a way to offer new opportunities to focus on living healthy lifestyles by participating in programs that emphasize fit bodies and minds.

LifeBridge Health has named Gail Wolven as the new fulltime wellness coordinator. Wolven is working closely with the JCC team to bring LifeBridge Health professionals to the Owings Mills and Park Heights JCC campuses for lectures, screenings and other motivating activities.

Wolven previously worked as the manager of the Edward A. Myerberg Fitness Center and as the administrative program director and wellness director of the LifeBridge Health Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.

“LifeBridge Health is dedicated to improving the quality of life and health in Maryland by providing the right care at the right times with preventive and chronic care management and community outreach,” says Neil Meltzer, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health. “Because the JCC has a strong, ongoing commitment to health and fitness in the Owings Mills and Park Heights neighborhoods, this partnership is a great fit for both organizations.

Another significant component of this affiliation will be the opening of “Physiotherapy at the J” this spring. LifeBridge Health Physical Therapy powered by Physiotherapy Associates will provide a full scope of physical therapy, occupational therapy, sports rehabilitation and other health and wellness services at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC’s state-of-the-art fitness center.

Its experts will offer physical therapy, sports medicine and rehabilitation for athletes, orthopedic outpatients and those with chronic pain. These include back and neck care, orthopedic physical therapy and performance enhancement, as well as pre- and postoperative, neurological and work injury rehabilitation.

“We are always looking to add value to the services we offer, and the partnership with LifeBridge Health, which is a natural alliance between two historically Jewish institutions, has created the perfect opportunity to provide significant wellness education and support to our members and the community at large,” says Barak Hermann, president of the JCC of Greater Baltimore.

Patients of Physiotherapy at the J will have full access to the J’s fitness equipment for the purposes of rehabilitation. Highly specialized services such as Dynamic Movement Assessments will also be available.
