Carroll Hospice achieves Level 5 We Honor Veterans status

Carroll Hospice, Carroll Hospital's affiliated hospice service, is proud to announce it has received level five status—the highest status available—with the We Honor Veterans program. This marks the first time Carroll Hospice has received this coveted status, which is a new level created by the national program.
We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that aims to improve the care of veterans from hospice and palliative care providers.
To earn level five status, Carroll Hospice satisfied the program’s strict requirements centered around meeting the unique needs of veterans. For example, Carroll Hospice integrated veteran-specific training into the orientation for staff and volunteers, and participated in the Carroll County Veterans Advisory Council.
Carroll Hospice also offers a range of community events, programs and services that recognize veterans and their families. This includes holding a Remembering Our Heroes Luminary Event, a We Honor Veterans breakfast and providing a special service for veterans nearing the end of life.  This is in addition to the high quality hospice care and bereavement support services available to all hospice patients and families.
“We are extremely proud to receive level five status, and thankful to our team of veteran volunteers and all those who have worked so diligently on our We Honor Veterans program,” said Regina Bodnar, executive director of Carroll Hospice. “This is an incredible honor, reflective of the wonderful care Carroll Hospice provides to our veterans nearing end of life.”
Carroll Hospital, a LifeBridge Health Center, is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
