Most people who use tobacco have more success with quitting by using assisted quit methods like nicotine replacement, prescription medication, counseling and support. The following organizations and resources are available to help you stop using tobacco products.

Carroll County Health Department

The Carroll County Health Department offers several options for free, quit tobacco education.

Attend one of these programs and receive vouchers for nicotine replacement products or Chantix (doctor’s prescription needed for Chantix). For more information on these programs call 410-876-4429 or visit the health department's website.

Your Health Care Provider 

Discuss your desire to quit using tobacco with your health care provider.This allows you to review your personal health history and get recommendations for the best cessation options for you. If you need a doctor, call Care Connect at 410-871-7000 for a referral.

Maryland Tobacco Quitline

A free service for Marylanders 13 years and older and sponsored by the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

Enroll online now to receive online support from our Quit Coaches. 

We will send you guides with helpful advice for you or someone you care about who is trying to quit.

Call 1-800-784-8669 to talk to a live Quit Coach 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Counseling is provided in English, Spanish, or other languages.

Pennsylvania Free Quitline is a free program that provides helpful tools, information and support throughout your quit process. Available to Pennsylvanians 14 years old or older. Enroll online or by phone. Coaches will determine if you are eligible for free two-week supply of nicotine patches or gum.
