Cancer Survivorship

Embrace Wellness is a cancer survivorship program offered each year by the Tevis Center for Wellness at Carroll Hospital in partnership with NovaCare, a LifeBridge Health partner and nationally renowned provider of physical therapy and rehabilitation services. Embrace Wellness is open to all cancer survivors who have completed treatment.

The program supports cancer patients in survivorship through a holistic approach that promotes healing, recovery and physical and emotional well-being. The 12-week program meets weekly and offers nutrition education sessions with a registered dietitian nutritionist who encourages healthy whole food choices for cancer prevention and overall health and wellness.
Complementary health sessions may include a variety of self-help and relaxation offerings such as yoga and guided imagery for stress management. And, to help regain strength, balance and physical wellness, participants attend fitness sessions three times a week at one of NovaCare's community-based rehab sites. As a part of NovaCare's ReVital Program, the first nationwide comprehensive cancer rehabilitation of its kind, therapists specially trained in oncology rehabilitation will work one-on-one with participants, ensuring safe progress tailored to each individual's needs and ability.

Embrace Wellness is made possible by the Carroll Hospital Foundation Embrace Fund, obtained through the generous support of individuals and organizations who want to ensure continued healing through cancer survivorship. This support allows the program to be offered at a nominal fee.
