The Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute offers one of the region's most sophisticated array of services for cancer patients. Members of the institute actively participate in clinical research studies providing patients with the most advanced treatment modalities available. Working together as a multidisciplinary team, our specialists offer a wide variety of treatment options and supportive care in pain management and nutrition.
The Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement is a multi-disciplinary center that focuses on non-operative and surgical methods to treat joint pain and disorders, while employing the most advanced technology.

The Division of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at Sinai Hospital provides individuals who are morbidly obese and have been unsuccessful in losing weight with the latest surgical techniques in gastric bypass, including laparoscopy. In addition to physician expertise, this Division of Surgery at Sinai Hospital offers nutritional counseling and emotional support to help patients successfully realize their weight loss goals. The Division of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery is recognized as a center of excellence by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery.
ER-7 Emergency Center at Sinai was built from the ground up to set new standards of emergency care and customer service, and houses seven specialized emergency centers under one roof.
The Heart Center at Sinai offers advanced heart care, five highly equipped cardiac catheterization laboratories, and an Emergency Chest Pain Evaluation Unit that makes chest pain a priority, allowing physicians to diagnose and begin treatment at the earliest possible moment. Other services include a Coronary Care/Progressive Care unit with 14 coronary care beds and 48 progressive care, including 12 Open Heart Step-Down beds.
The Herman and Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai offers a full range of pediatric specialty services, for patients from birth to 18 years of age, supporting area pediatricians with the most comprehensive care of any community hospital in Maryland.
The International Center for Limb Lengthening (ICLL) is internationally recognized as the most experienced center for limb lengthening and reconstruction in the world, committed to providing the most comprehensive and technologically advanced treatments available for children and adults with upper and lower limb length discrepancies, short stature, limb deformities, nonunions, bone defects, bone infections, joint contractures, and arthritis. The ICLL is directed by Dr. John E. Herzenberg.
The Krieger Eye Institute provides a full range of ophthalmic consultation services. At the forefront of ocular disease research and patient care, the Krieger Eye Institute has a highly trained staff of ophthalmologists, each of whom has a particular subspecialty. The staff provide the latest methods of surgical and non-surgical medical treatment of diseases of the eye, including glaucoma, strabismus, ocular tumors, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retinal detachment and cataracts.
The Rehabilitation Center is focused on restoring maximum physical and functional potential, addressing the psychological affects of disabilities, and minimizing the time it takes to return to daily activity.
Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics is directed by Drs. John E. Herzenberg and Michael A. Mont. Within the institute are two separate centers specializing in various orthopedic treatments. The International Center for Limb Lengthening focuses on the care of pediatric and adult patients with congenital, developmental and post-traumatic limb deformities and limb length discrepancies, as well as skeletal abnormalities and other causes of short stature, and bone defects and nonunions.
The Center for Joint Preservation and Reconstruction uses groundbreaking hip and knee replacement techniques and treats bone and joint infections. The center also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of joint pain in adults due to joint degeneration; avascular necrosis; and hip, knee, shoulder and ankle injuries.
The Sinai Center for Thrombosis Research was founded in 1998. The Center’s primary focus is translational research related to thrombosis in patients undergoing interventional cardiovascular procedures.
The Spine Center staff is dedicated to the specialized, comprehensive management of degenerative and acute conditions of the spine. Our multidisciplinary team of medical professionals has expertise that encompasses neck and back problems, as well as spinal disorders affecting the upper and lower extremities.
The Stroke Center is a collaborative effort among the Department of Medicine's Division of Neurology, Patient Care Services, and attending Sinai physicians. Complete inpatient and outpatient services are available, including home care.
