They spend their time welcoming and assisting patients and visitors and doing other meaningful tasks across many key departments.

What can volunteers do?

Northwest Hospital has many opportunities to get involved. Whether you want to work behind the scenes or interact with patients, there's a job that fits you and your schedule.

Adult Volunteer Program

If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering at Northwest Hospital, you can easily apply online or pick up a form at the front desk in our main lobby. Please note that all volunteers must undergo tuberculosis (TB) testing, receive a flu shot and agree to a background check.

Student Volunteer Programs

Through Northwest Hospital's Teen Volunteer Program (must be between the ages of 15 and 18 to participate), you can earn service hours that can be applied toward the total number of community service hours required by your school system for high school graduation.

High School - Summer Volunteer Program

Program Requirements:

  • Students are expected to perform at least 75 volunteer hours before their program ends. Hospital volunteering follows strict guidelines and there are many steps to the volunteer application and onboarding process. An application, interview, health screen forms and mandatory orientation must be completed in order to volunteer at Northwest Hospital.
  • Students are expected to wear their assigned Northwest Hospital polo shirt or smock along with khaki pants, closed-toe shoes and their volunteer badge. Students are required to sign in and out for each of their volunteer shifts.
  • A certificate with your total number of volunteer hours will be mailed to you at the end of the program, after you have returned your badge.
