About Child Life

Board Game One fun benefit to being a patient at the Children’s Hospital at Sinai is the Teen Lounge! When you are not taking your medicine or getting a test done, you can go to the Teen Lounge to relax and have fun! It is fully equipped with televisions, game systems and other age-appropriate activities.

The Teen Lounge is located on the 3rd floor of the inpatient unit, past the first nurses station near the end of the hallway. There are specially trained people there who will help you understand your reason for being in a hospital. These people are child life specialists.

The child life specialists will talk to you about the hospital experience and help you to understand what is going on with your treatments. There are also volunteers who will play games and do activities with you. The goal is to help you feel happy and safe. And, don’t worry. If you can’t come to the Teen Lounge, someone will bring activities and games to your room!

Hours

The program operates seven days a week, including evenings and holidays. Special events and parties are planned through the year.

The Teen Lounge days and times are:

Monday – Saturday:
9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Open for Play and Activities
1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Closed for Rest Time
2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Open for Play and Activities

Sunday:
10:00 PM – 4:00 PM Open for Play and Activities
