About Child Life
One fun benefit to being one of our patients at the Children’s Hospital at Sinai is the playroom! When you are not taking your medicine or getting a test done, you can go to the playroom to relax and have fun!
The playroom is located on the 3rd floor of the inpatient unit, past the first nurses station near the end of the hallway. There are many specially trained people there who will help you understand your reason for being in a hospital. These people include child life specialists and volunteers.
The child life specialists will talk to you about the hospital experience and provide activities for you to do. The goal is to help you feel happy and safe. And, don’t worry. If you can’t come to the playroom, someone will bring toys and games to your room!
Hours
The program operates seven days a week, including evenings and holidays. Special events and parties are planned through the year.
The Playroom days and times are:
Monday - Saturday:
9:30 AM - 1:00 PM Open for Play and Activities
1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Closed for Rest Time
2:30 PM - 6:00 PM Open for Play and Activities
Sunday:
10:00 PM - 4:00 PM Open for Play and Activities
