Clubfoot and Metatarsus Adductus (Ponseti Method)

This baby had clubfoot (right foot) and metatarsus adductus (left foot). To treat the club foot, Ponseti manipulation with serial casting was utilized. To treat the metatarsus adductus (left foot), a Kite short-leg casting method was used. Treatment was successful and resulted in the baby having plantigrade feet (flat feet) with excellent positioning. The baby also had normal flexibility and mobility of the feet and ankles. Both feet were corrected within the first 3 months of life.
