The social worker educates the patient and family members in the recovery process, coordinates discharge plans, and provides counseling for support to the patient and family. The social worker will also assist in scheduling conferences and meetings.
Family members of patients on the TBI/Neuro Rehab unit who have suffered a stroke or traumatic brain injury will be provided a Family Resource Guide. This will serve as a resource of information about the patient's diagnosis, unit information, glossary of terms related to diagnosis, and area support groups.
