Sinai Hospital Addictions Recovery Program (SHARP)

The Sinai Hospital Addictions Recovery Program (SHARP) is an outpatient substance use disorder treatment program for adults age 18 and above with opioid use disorder. SHARP is part of the Sinai Hospital Department of Psychiatry and is located in northwest Baltimore City. The program provides services to uninsured and under-insured Baltimore City residents. SHARP espouses a medical model of treatment. Medication assisted treatment, utilizing methadone and buprenorphine, is viewed as adjunctive to comprehensive treatment services including individual, group and family counseling; substance use disorder education for patients and families; primary medical care (assessment and referral) for uninsured patients; fully integrated co-occurring services for the high percentage of patients with co-existing psychiatric disorders; on-site testing and counseling for HIV and sexually transmitted diseases; and linkage with additional services as needed.
