Sinai's outpatient department is the primary site for OB-GYN residents to provide ambulatory health care. There are over 8,400 visits per year to the OB-GYN clinics. Residents have their own continuity clinic session and also rotate through general obstetrics and gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, family planning, adolescent/pediatric gynecology, menopause, colposcopy, oncology and gynecologic endocrine sessions.
The faculty is chosen for these specific ambulatory rotations because they have demonstrated post-graduate training and/or expertise in these disciplines. One of the program's extraordinary strengths is the high level of surgical training it provides all of its residents.
Resident caseloads are carefully monitored and are assigned based on level of acuity and post-graduate year. Adequate time and supervision are provided to each resident to ensure quality care for these complex patients.
