The Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute Translational Research Laborator - researcher using a petri dishThe Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute Translational Research Laboratory is located in the Schapiro Building at Sinai Hospital. The aim of translational research is to rapidly move scientific discoveries from the bench to the bedside to ultimately improve patient care. Michael A. Tangrea, Ph.D., leads the research effort with interests in molecular diagnostics, tissue microdissection and genomic medicine.  Working with clinicians and residents, the Translational Research Laboratory is engaged in research studies of triple negative breast cancer, lung cancer, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and melanoma.
