Overview of Library Services

The Eisenberg Medical LibraryThe Eisenberg Medical Library offers a wide array of onsite and online services to LifeBridge Health employees located on the Sinai campus. Some of our services are available to employees of the Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center (check your library services Intranet page). Below is a summary of the many services we provide. We maintain an Intranet page for both Sinai and Levindale. Access to the library on Sinai’s campus is controlled by a badge reader located outside the library. Your Sinai ID Badge controls your access. Clinical groups, management and administration also have access with their badge. If there is a problem contact your supervisor or the library.

Books and Journals: The library maintains a small collection of books and journals in print format, including some journal resources to the late 1960s. The library maintains thousands of journals and textbooks electronically. LibraryWorld is an online catalog of books the library owns, and A to Z Journal is an online catalog of the library’s electronic journal resources, plus some of our electronic book titles.

Interlibrary Services: Interlibrary loans, or ILLs, can be requested for materials (articles, books, etc.) that are not available in our library either online or in print. There is an “Article Request” form link on our main Intranet page. Turnaround time varies, but on average the following is what you might expect:

  • Articles: usually filled and available in PDF in 24-36 hours.
  • Books, audio-visuals: usually filled and available in 2-3 days.

***Note regarding books and A/V materials: These are subject to availability, and if already in circulation to another customer, the waits could be considerably longer. The library staff will communicate this to you should this be the case.
