Emergency radiology is a subspecialty of radiology that focuses on diagnosing the acute illnesses and injuries of emergency room patients. This subspecialty involves X-rays, ultrasounds, MRIs and CT scans all taken and interpreted onsite in the emergency room.
Emergency radiology is used to diagnose sudden-onset illnesses and injuries, such as appendicitis, gunshot wounds, stroke and more. Because emergencies can happen day or night, our radiologists are always on hand in the ER units of Sinai and Northwest hospitals, ready and able to perform high-tech imaging procedures and interpret their results quickly and accurately.
Hafez Haerian, M.D., is a radiologist and head of emergency radiology at LifeBridge Health. He specializes in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology.
Dr. Haerian received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed an internship at Union Memorial Hospital, a residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, and a fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
