Dr. Apostolo is chief of orthopedic surgery at Northwest Hospital. He is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon and clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland. Dr. Apostolo is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery. He is also a special fellow in hand and upper extremities surgery for the Department of Orthopaedics and the Division of Plastic Surgery.

While he has advanced training in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Apostolo sees patients for a wide variety of needs, including:

  • Surgical and nonsurgical treatment for conditions such as: arthritis; bone infections; carpal and cubital tunnel syndrome; de Quervain syndrome; Dupuytren’s disease; gout and pseudogout; hand and wrist tumors and ganglion cysts; mallet finger; numbness or nighttime pain in the shoulder, arm or hand; painful or arthritic thumb or pinch; tendonitis; tennis elbow; and trigger finger
  • Surgical and nonsurgical treatment for injuries such as: animal bites, bone fractures, general injuries, rotator cuff injuries, shoulder pain, sprains, sports injuries, stiffness in the hand or elbow, and tendon injuries (extensor, flexor)
  • Joint repair and joint replacement of the knee, hip, shoulder, elbow and wrist including: arthroscopic surgery, total and partial joint replacement for knee and hip joints, and total and reverse total shoulder replacement

Since 1989, Dr. Apostolo has concentrated in knee, hip, shoulder and hand surgery, serving people of all ages in Howard County, Catonsville and Baltimore. Prior to joining LifeBridge Health, he was chief of surgery of the hand at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Apostolo is a standing member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Society of the Hand and the Maryland Orthopaedic Association.

John V. Ingari, M.D.John V. Ingari, M.D., F.A.A.O.S., specializes in hand and upper extremity surgery. He treats a wide range of upper extremity conditions helping patients with finger, hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder issues with both surgical and non-surgical treatments.

Before joining LifeBridge Health, Dr. Ingari served as the division chief of hand surgery at Johns Hopkins; he was the associate fellowship director of the Johns Hopkins Hand Fellowship and was an integral part of the Johns Hopkins upper extremity transplant team. Dr. Ingari also took upper extremity calls at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Prior to Hopkins, he served in the U.S. Air Force where he performed surgery on over 500 combat wounded in Iraq. He is an internationally renowned expert in trauma care in the upper extremity.
