At the time of discharge, you will be given prescriptions for pain medicine and antibiotics. Take the antibiotics only if there are signs/symptoms of infection (temperature of 101°F, pain, redness, swelling, and/or drainage at pin sites). When you need a refill of your prescription, please call during office hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Requests for pain refills on nights/weekends/holidays will not be honored.
A daily multivitamin with iron supplement, vitamin C (adult patients, 500 mg; pediatric patients, 100 mg) twice a day, and a daily calcium supplement (adult patients only, 1000 mg) are recommended for our patients. These vitamins and minerals encourage bone growth and healing.
Certain medications may interfere with bone healing and formation.

- Ibuprofen
-Motrin
-Advil
-Children's Advil*
-Ibuprohm
