Inpatient Rehabilitation

Inpatient Physical Therapy The Rehabilitation team at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics provides a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to inpatient rehabilitation for children and adults. We specialize in providing high-quality, specialized protocol driven therapy for adults and children following orthopedic surgery. Patients will be treated by two types of therapists:

  • Physical therapists evaluate transfers, gait and instruct in the use of adaptive equipment such as crutches or walkers. The physical therapist will educate the patient and family on post-operative precautions, perform therapeutic exercise programs and teach family how to assist the patient in their home environment.

  • Occupational therapists address activities of daily living, such as: dressing, bathing, toileting, car transfers and adaptive equipment/clothing, as well as therapeutic exercise program. Occupational therapists will also provide custom fabricated static and dynamic splints as needed for certain orthopedic surgeries.
