Interventional Pain Therapy

Northwest Hospital Imaging provides interventional pain therapy to address both acute and chronic pain.  Therapeutic options include:
  • Epidural - a steroid/anesthetic injection around the spinal nerves
  • Facet block - a steroid/anesthetic injection into the spine facet joint
  • Radiofrequency neurotomy - nerve block using radio waves
  • Sacroiliac joint - a steroid/anesthetic injection into this major pelvic joint
  • Hip joint - a steroid/anesthetic injection for hip pain
  • Discogram - a provocative and functional diagnostic disc injection used to evaluate disc pain
  • Sympathetic block - administered in the neck or back to relieve nerve pain or reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD)
  • Spinal Cord Stimulator Trials - temporary lead placed for overriding pain stimulus to determine if patient is candidate for permanent implant
  • Epidural lysis of adhesions - an injection procedure to break up scar tissue in the spine.
