While cancer is generally treated on an outpatient basis, patients may require hospitalization during their course of therapy. The oncology staff on level 4D has been specially trained to provide cancer patients with the highest quality of care. The nurses on the unit have received oncology-specific training and work closely with the outpatient team to ensure our patients receive the proper care and treatment for their conditions.
The inpatient oncology unit has 20 private rooms and provides symptom management services related to the treatment of cancer. Patient education is provided about chemotherapy, nutrition and other areas related to oncology.
