(Baltimore, Md.) - The Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics (RIAO) at LifeBridge Health is expanding its services with the opening of new satellite locations in Westminster, Eldersburg and Owings Mills and the expansion of surgical and rehabilitation services to Northwest Hospital, a LifeBridge Health center in Randallstown.
The RIAO’s central hub will continue to be located at LifeBridge Health center Sinai Hospital, which is home to the world-renowned International Center for Limb Lengthening and the prestigious Center for Joint Preservation and Replacement. There are also existing satellite locations in Reisterstown and Towson.
In addition to more locations, the RIAO has brought on more board-certified experts to its surgical team. There are now more than 30 surgeons with expertise in every discipline of both pediatric and adult orthopedic surgery.
Available services include joint replacement surgery for hips, knees and shoulders; limb lengthening; pediatric orthopedics; hand and upper extremity surgery; podiatry/foot and ankle surgery; and trauma surgery. Conditions treated include sports-related injuries, carpal tunnel, spine disorders (including scoliosis), orthopedic tumors, bone infections, and many general orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
Since its inception in 2001, the RIAO has achieved a global reputation for its innovative treatment of orthopedic disorders in both children and adults. Its surgeons perform approximately 3,500 orthopedic procedures a year, including more than 1,500 hip and knee joint replacements. The RIAO’s orthopedics research is internationally recognized, and its surgeons and clinicians are among the most published in the United States in this field.
