Jeanette A.F. Linder, M.D. Named to 2012 List of Maryland’s Top 100 Women

Jeanette A.F. Linder, M.D., chief of The Weinman Family Department of Radiation Oncology in The Alvin and Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, will be honored on the Daily Record’s Top 100 Women of Maryland annual list.  The list was created to recognize outstanding achievement by women as demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.

As the chief, Linder focuses on improving the experience and education that patients receive to better help them make a smooth transition from cancer patient to cancer survivor.  She has been instrumental with technology upgrades in the department by delivering state-of-the-art external treatment with intensity modulated radiation therapy and image-guided radiation therapy and upgrading the stereotactic and brachytherapy programs that complement our full-service, state-of-the-art department.

In her role as the chief, Linder sees patients and participates in multidisciplinary thoracic, breast, neurologic, gastrointestinal and gynecology cancer teams in the Alvin & Lois Lapidus Cancer Institute. She performs stereotactic radiosurgery using the TrueBeam and CyberKnife, which are non-surgical treatments using very focused beams of radiation on small and previously inaccessible tumors or lesions deep within the body. Linder also participates in clinical trials and works with the entire Cancer Institute team to enhance multidisciplinary collaboration.

Linder will receive the honor during an awards celebration on May 7 at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.

This year, The Daily Record received 450 nominations solicited from economic development agencies, women’s organizations, chambers of commerce and the business community at large.
